Projects

SMS Training For New Hires - Our safety management system is vital for the safe operation of our airline. This program allows our employees to report safety concerns they see while out on the operational flight line. This training was proving to be an issue with less than desired retention. This was among two projects I took on to revamp both the new hire training and leader training for SMS. We implemented interactive activities and filmed multiple videos that we implemented to provide a visual for learners. This improved the overall retention of this training course and the overall adoption rate of the SMS program.
CRJ 901 Experience - We are a growing airline, so this means buying gently used aircraft that do not always match the current configuration of our in service fleet. This posed a challenge to the flight attendants having a new aircraft configuration. To solve this issue I developed a new training course in which we called the CRJ 901 Experience. This gave flight attendants a full 360 front to back walkthrough of the new aircraft configuration. In this experience we point out different markers that the learner can engage with to explain where each system is located within this particular aircraft configuration. This new approach to training has received excellent feedback, with many of our crew stating that they felt better prepared and equipped with the knowledge of the aircraft before actually stepping foot on the plane for its first service run. This ultimately proved to make our airline safer and better equipped to deliver an enhanced experience for both our crew and passengers.
